Bringing hope to the community

Since 2008, UHope CDC, founded by Aletha Scott-Mallory in Sandy Springs, Georgia, has been dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless men and veterans. With over 1,000 men assisted, UHope offers housing solutions, support services, and community programs designed to empower individuals to regain stability and hope. Committed to compassion and faith, UHope not only provides shelter but also builds a supportive community to foster lasting change.

Spreading hope throughout the community

UHope CDC is a beacon of hope for homeless men and veterans in our community. We offer emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and personalized support to help men reclaim their lives. Beyond housing, we actively contribute to community initiatives like Toys-for-Tots, spreading joy to children in need every holiday season. Our youth outreach program empowers young men aged 18-25 by providing housing and vital resources, ensuring that the next generation has the support they need to thrive.

Emergency Shelter

Our emergency shelter program offers immediate, short-term housing for men of all ages who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. Providing up to 30 days of safe refuge, this program gives individuals the critical time and support needed to stabilize their situation, access resources, and plan for long-term housing solutions. Aletha Scott-Mallory

Founder

Aletha Scott-Mallory, the heart behind UHope CDC, was born in Liberia and came to the United States to pursue her college education at Western Kentucky University. Raised in a close-knit Christian village, Aletha grew up with a deep sense of faith, community, and compassion. Her upbringing instilled in her a lifelong passion for giving back and standing beside those in need. Guided by her faith and a calling to serve, Aletha founded UHope in 2008 with a mission to support homeless men and veterans in rebuilding their lives. Her vision was simple yet powerful: to create a place where people could find shelter, dignity, hope, and the resources to begin again. Since then, she has helped over 1,000 men find stability and purpose through UHope’s programs. Aletha continues to lead with humility, dedication, and an unwavering belief that true change begins when we come together to uplift one another.

UHope gave me a second chance when I had nowhere else to turn. The emergency shelter was a safe place, and the staff helped me find transitional housing. Today, I’m back on my feet and hopeful for the future.
